While nearly 7 years have passed since the Great Recession, economic and political uncertainty have continued to plague business decision-making. The roles and responsibilities of CPAs and finance professionals, meanwhile, has continued to expand. This course is part of a series of short courses that will explore key economic, personnel, and regulatory issues that will have a substantial impact on financial and accounting decisions for years to come. This one hour course will examine and walk-through key issues related to retirement planning and Social Security solvency. Special focus will be given to the role of the financial professional in analyzing and forecasting the risk of improper retirement planning on industry, particularly if employees approaching retirement discover they can’t afford to retire.
